Strong Kids Week 8/23-8/29 detail
Post date: Aug 21, 2020 3:51:57 PM
Team,
Strong Kids Week will be held next week starting Sunday (Bake Sale starts Monday). Every year we hold Strong Kids Week to raise funds for our Annual Support Campaign. Each area of the Y and Family Wellness holds it's own fundraising event/sale to help contribute to the funding of programs such as LiveStrong, Parkinson's Support Group, Financial Assistance programs and many more. There will be quarter sheet cards at each desk to write the individuals name on that we will display on the wall behind the East Member Service desk. Please write their first name and last initial. No dollar amount should be written on the cards.
Below are details for each area:
Membership: Bake Sale
- There will be prepackaged goodies for sale in the East entrance lobby starting Monday, August 24th. Prices will be marked on each bagged item. To charge for the item, look up account in Daxko -> One Time Fee -> ASC - Member Services Bake Sale -> enter dollar amount listed on item and complete transaction.
Child Watch: "I'm a Y Kid" shirt sale and change drive
- The "I'm a Y Kid" shirts will be displayed in the Child Watch area but stored and sold at the East Member Service desk for $15 + tax (tax is automatically calculated for us). To charge for the shirt look up member's account in Daxko -> One Time Fee -> ASC - Y Kid Shirt -> complete transaction.
- Change Drive: There will be a jar in the Child Watch room for parents/kids to donate change. At the end of every shift the Person in Charge in Child Watch will bring the jar to the desk to process the amount. To do this go to Fast Fee located under the Membership drop down tab on the main Daxko page->Select ASC-Child Watch-Change Drive-> enter the amount and process the transaction. This amount will then be counted in your Shift Close Out.
Life Center: Cardio for a Cause
- The Life Center will be doing a Cardio for a Cause event throughout the week where individuals can pledge any amount. They will bring the attached form to either Member Service desk to make their contribution. They can either pay with cash, check, card or their payment method on file. This can be done by looking up the member's account in Daxko -> One Time Fee -> ASC - Life Center - Cardio for a Cause -> enter the dollar amount they wish to donate and process the transaction with their desired payment method. Put all sheets in April Robinson's mailbox.
Group Fitness: Tour de Stronger Us and Group Fitness Pump up Programs
- Tour de Stronger Us is a simulated Tour de France cycle class held in the Cycling Studio on three separate nights (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) from 7:00-8:00 PM. Each day is $20 for members, $40 for non-members and requires registration ahead of time (registration closes at 6:00 PM the day of each session). Registration can be done online, in house or over the phone. Registration is done the same way as you would for programs like swim lessons or sports. It is found under the Strong Kids Week tag. Each day has its own dedicated sign up spot. Ask if participants want to register for multiple days as each day is a separate charge.
-Group Fitness Pump up Programs: Group Fitness instructors will talk about the Strong Kids Week fundraising drive to their regular group fitness classes and encourage participants to donate. If a participant wishes to donate the instructor will give them a quarter sheet to bring to either Member Service desk (we will have them at the desk as well if they run out). When the participant hands in the sheet we need to get the member's name, the amount they wish to donate and the instructor's name of the class they attended (April does a competition to see who can raise the most donations). To process the transaction look up the member's profile in Daxko -> One Time Fee -> Select ASC-Group Fitness-Pump up Programs -> enter dollar amount they wish to donate -> process transaction with their desired payment method (cash, check, card, payment method on file). Place all quarter sheets in April's mailbox so she can track for her competition.
Silent Auction:
We will be having an online silent auction to auction off some of the items that were donated to the cancelled Basket Ball fundraiser from February. These will be displayed in the East Lobby of the building. Bids can only be entered on the site listed below. Please make sure that we are being vigilant with these items so they do not wind up walking out the door.
