Renew Active Memberships
Post date: Dec 17, 2019 5:13:12 PM
Hey all,
Starting January 1, 2020 we will be participating in the Renew Active health plan through United Healthcare. This plan will be replacing the old AARP model that we had previously been running (6 members total were using it, they will all be rolled over into the new plan automatically Jan 1.). With Renew Active, eligible participants with certain United Healthcare Medicare Advantage plans or United Healthcare AARP Medicare Supplement plans will not have to pay for their membership (like SilverSneakers and Silver & Fit). Like SilverSneakers and Silver & Fit, this plan only covers the basic membership cost and the enrollment fee. If an individual wants to do the Fitness Locker Room they are responsible for paying that themselves. During sign up the member only needs to fill out a membership application. These participants will have their own Membership Type - Renew Active.
Participants in this program will receive a letter with their confirmation code. This code will either be an "A" followed by nine digits or "S" followed by nine digits. This code needs to be entered in Daxko in the Renew Active field located in the same area as SilverSneakers and Silver & Fit's codes are entered during sign up, or under the Wellness tab in Edit Membership Information post sign up.
If the participant does not have their code with them we can look it up online similar to how we check SilverSneakers and Silver & Fit eligibility. I have bookmarked the link on the computers as Renew Active home. Through this site you will need to enter their First Name (as it appears on their insurance card), Last Name, Date of Birth and Zip Code. If they are eligible the "A" or "S" code with nine digits following will appear and you can enter that code into Daxko. If the code is not generated after entering that information, a secondary search option will come up. For the secondary search the individual will need to have their Member ID number as well as their Group Number (this information is found on their insurance card). If the secondary search still results in them being ineligible, they need to contact their insurance provider at the number found on the backside of their insurance card. The insurance provider may be able to determine if they have an eligibility code over the phone or instruct them on how they are able to become eligible for the plan.
Attached is an Eligibility Guide from United Healthcare that may be useful for you.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this program before it launches so we can be prepared when it kicks off on New Year's Day.
