Scholarship Applications

Hey all,

When we are taking in scholarship applications we need to be making sure that the applicant is turning in the proper supporting financial documents when we are accepting the application.  If they do not have any documents with them we cannot process the application.  If they say they don't have any income we need to be questioning that.  Examples of questions that you can ask are:

-Do you receive any assistance from the government (food stamps, housing assistance, social security income, disability, etc.)?

-Do you have a checking/savings account?

-Did you file taxes?

-Do you have pay stubs?

If they answer no to all of the above, do you have an organization that can write you a letter verifying your current financial situation (social worker, case manager, etc.)?

If they say yes to any of these questions we need to have paperwork to verify what they receive.  We cannot accept the application.  They need to turn that information in at the same time as the application.

Also, when the completed application is accepted please remember to write the date it was submitted on the top of the application.
